Lynn Czekai, MD was born and raised in Rochester, New York. She attended Siena College and graduated magna cum laude with a BA in biology in 1990. While at Siena, Dr. Czekai won a US Air Force Health Professions Scholarship. After graduating from Siena, she went to Albany Medical College in Albany, New York. During medical school Dr. Czekai discovered her love for pediatrics. She graduated in 1994 with a doctorate in medicine and then immediately started her residency in pediatrics at Keesler Air Force Base, in Biloxi Mississippi. Because of her exemplary performance during her residency she was asked by her professors to join the Pediatric Department of Keeslar Medical Center as the Chief of Pediatric Residents. Not only was Dr. Czekai responsible for managing the pediatric residency, she was also asked to be the interim Chief of Adolescent Medicine.
Captain Lynn Czekai, MD’s next assignment was at Andrews Air Force Base outside of Washington, DC. During Dr. Czekai’s three years at Malcolm Grow Medical Center, at Andrews Air Force Base, she was the Medical Director for the Pediatric Clinic and the Newborn Nursery. Dr. Czekai was an Instructor for the Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), and Instructor and Director of the Pediatric Advanced Life Support Program (PALS). As the instructor of these programs, Dr. Czekai was responsible for teaching residents, nurses, and other physicians how to care for critically ill children. Dr. Czekai also served on the Ethics Committee and Critical Care Committee at Malcolm Grow Medical Center. Dr. Czekai was rapidly promoted to Major and received the US Air Force Achievement Medal and the Meritorious Service Medal. She completed her military service in 2001. She then moved to Connecticut and joined the New Britain Pediatric Group in December, 2001.
Dr. Czekai is an Attending Physician at the Hospital of Central Connecticut, (New Britain General Hospital). She is an Associate Professor at UCONN Medical School, and precepts for the student continuity clerkship.
Dr. Czekai is Board Certified by the American Board of Pediatrics, and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
Lynn Czekai, MD was married to her husband in 1999 in Saratoga Springs, New York and they have two children, Alexandra and Jack.
